Kiwi Jam or What to do with ripe fruits

Article published on 08/10/2015 by the Nats Sisters

The Story behind the recipe :

I'm sure this happened to you already...On monday you go to the market thinking of all the junk you had over the week end. You want better for yourself. So you buy lots of fruits and vegetables. You try your best to eat them all. But before you notice, they are all ripe. Well this week I had 6 very ripe kiwis. After eating 2 of them, I wondered what to do with the 4 remaining. I looked up for a recipe on the internet. And 5 minutes later i was making kiwi Jam (which happened to be delicious).

kiwi jam

You will need :

  • 4 kiwi
  • Half of their weight in Jam Sugar

The recipe :

  • Empty your 4 kiwis with a spoon and cut them into small pieces
  • Add half of their weight in sugar (here 135g of sugar for 270g of kiwis)
  • Mix them together and put them in the fridge for 3 hours.
  • Put the mixture to boil for 10 minutes
  • Pour mixture into your jar while it is hot. Close it and turn in upside down.
  • let it rest for 24h.
  • your Jam is ready !

Tips :

Don't forget to sterilise your jar before using it. Diping it 10 minutes in boiling water is enough and will prevent your jam from spoiling.
